A deceased-in-custody entry is also an end to physical custody, but it must never be grouped casually with ordinary releases. Likewise, a bond amount shown by CPSO proves only that an amount was set. It does not prove the bond was posted, approved, processed, and followed by discharge.

A useful Caddo Parish release record ties one person to one custody episode and one outcome. Identity fields can include a legal name, aliases, date of birth, sex, physical description, sheriff's office identifier, DPS&C number, and photograph. The public CPSO booking-history view supports exact Booking Number, Booking Date/Time, and Release Date/Time fields. Its basic history does not promise a release-reason field. If the reason or destination is missing, request the existing movement or release record. Do not infer it from the length of stay, a charge label, or the amount of a bond.

Request Caddo Parish Release Records
CPSO accepts requests in person, by mail, and through its online public-records form. A narrow request is easier to identify than a broad demand. Provide the complete name and aliases, date of birth, SO number if known, booking number or approximate date range, and the facility. Louisiana Law on Caddo Records

A probation or parole result indicates community supervision, not full discharge.

The DPS&C telephone locator at (225) 383-4580 accepts a DPS&C number or a name plus date of birth. It can provide a custody assignment, facility contact, and a projected release date if applicable. That projected field is not an actual release entry. Fully discharged state cases may require a DPS&C records request and the court record.

Caddo Parish Recent Release Gap
CPSO publishes a Currently Housed Inmates roster, not an official list of people released in the last 24 or 72 hours. The visible roster supports name, booked date, age, sex, photo details, charges, and bond. Its expandable history can show a Booking Number, Booking Date/Time, and exact Release Date/Time for a prior episode when that history is available. This partial historical view does not become a complete release archive.
CPSO describes its data as updated periodically and warns that information changes quickly. It does not publish an exact refresh interval or a post-release online retention rule. Caddo Sheriff's Re-entry / Transitional Work Program Facility is a local example of why leaving the main jail does not always mean release. A resident may work or take part in structured activity while remaining in a custodial program. Final community release must still be confirmed through the CPSO or DPS&C discharge and any follow-on supervision record.
Official address references have varied over time between 1121 and 1125 Forum Drive, with an older account describing the building beside the 1101 Forum Drive jail complex. Anyone visiting should call to verify the current entrance. The same rule applies to status: verify the latest legal custody, not the person's apparent physical setting.
Shreveport Booking Versus Parish Release
Shreveport's daily Inmate Booking Reports and the CPSO current roster are separate datasets. A city report documents intake by the municipal system. A later entry at Caddo Correctional Center can show that the person moved into parish custody. Disappearance from either snapshot does not establish that the person entered the community. Ask the city for its movement or disposition record, then follow the named receiving agency.
This city-to-parish handoff is a common source of a false Caddo Parish release claim. The correct sequence is the official City Jail booking channel, CPSO booking history, the court docket, and a direct record request if the transfer trail is unclear. A city booking date and a parish release timestamp describe different events unless the identifiers prove they belong to the same custody episode.
Verify Caddo Parish Supervision
Louisiana VINE, branded locally through LAVNS, supplies custody-status and event notifications. A matching record may reflect prison custody, a transfer, release, or active parole or probation. Register on the correct person after confirming identifiers, choose the offered event and delivery method, complete any PIN or confirmation step, and save the registration reference. When two records conflict, note the query time and ask the originating office for the authenticated record. Custody can change after a screenshot or search.
Avoid Caddo Release Payment Scams
CPSO warned in 2025 that scammers were posing as ankle-monitoring businesses and demanding money while claiming payment would release a relative from Caddo Correctional Center. The agency said no fee is due until monitoring is officially placed and that arrangements normally move through counsel and the judicial system. A caller's demand, receipt, or promise is never a Caddo Parish release record.
Confirm the claim with CPSO through a known official number, the person's attorney, and the court handling the case. Do not use contact details supplied only by the caller. Federal Releases Serving Caddo Parish
No active BOP prison or verified stand-alone ICE detention facility was identified in Caddo Parish. Federal defendants may still be housed locally under U.S. Marshals arrangements.
